About Me
My musical journey began at age 12. Some friends from school had a band and told me they needed a bass player. I had no idea what a bass guitar even was, but the next week I asked my parents for one for my upcoming birthday. They agreed to the request and I fell in love. Throughout high school I played in various rock and metal bands. In college I decided to attend Middle Tennessee State University and enroll in the Audio Production program. There I studied music production and a new passion for the process of recording music took hold.
My last semester of college I accepted and completed an internship at Dark Horse Recording in Franklin, Tennessee. I began expanding my musical knowledge by playing in various country, rock, and pop bands around Nashville. After my internship was over I stuck around as an assistant engineer and was given engineering gigs by management as well. I began to really develop my tracking and mixing skills in the studios there. In that time I worked under incredible Nashville engineers and producers in the country, contemporary christian, jazz, and rock world. Some of the more notable acts I assisted for during that time include Mercy Me, Foghat, and Motley Crue's Mick Mars.
After Dark Horse, I was hired as a full-time assistant engineer for the prolific producer, Nick Raskulinecz. I spent the better part of 3 years learning the ins and outs of making records with Nick. In that time I was part of recording albums for the likes of Alice in Chains (pictured above), Black Star Riders, 10 Years, Rise Against, Halestorm and others. I had been freelancing outside of my assistant positions for years, and in early 2018 I decided to go out on my own as a freelance producer/engineer, and musician in Nashville's Broadway music scene. That's the journey thus far, and I can't wait to see what's next!
